Who We Are - Page 3

Our Drama Department has won numerous “Superiors” and “Critic’s Choice” awards at Regional and State thespian festivals and mounts several plays per year in our Loading Dock Theater. G-Star students also participate in a resident professional theater company's plays. The theater company is called Rude Mechanic's Productions and is owned and operated by three G-Star drama teachers.

G-STAR also has its own recording studio on campus where musical groups and individuals are recorded with state-of-the-art equipment. The students engineer and operate the studios for the performers. In addition, G-Star has a full photographic studio where students receive head shots, model composites, and portfolio work for no charge to help enhance their careers in film, television and acting.

The G-Star School of the Arts is one of the most financially successful high schools in the nation. In 2003 G-Star began its operations with zero dollars in its savings account and $65,000 per month in operational funding. Today the school has over $11,000,000 in assets and liquid cash. The school has $1,200,000 in its savings accounts, $1,300,000 in its monthly operational account, and approximately
$9,000,000 in real estate assets. In addition, the school has gone through the most rigorous financial scrutiny earning a $4,995,000 Bond issue backed by the Board of Commissioners of Palm Beach County. Within that time, the school experienced explosive growth from 156 students to over 760 students, bought its own property containing 93,000 sq. ft. under roof in ten buildings on property that is almost a mile long. Students attend the school from Jupiter to Boca Raton to Loxahatchee on transportation provided by the school. Many families have relocated from out of state and even from out of country just so their children can attend G-Star. The school has performed excellently through five state-required audits by an outside auditor recommended by the School District of Palm Beach County that have found every dollar has been used for appropriate educational purposes. G-STAR has proven to be one of the safest schools in the State, backed by one of the strictest drug and bullying policies in the country.

The G-Star School of the Arts Artists In Residence include Producer Suzanne DeLaurentiis (Rocky V), Actor John Goodman (Rosanne), Actress Sally Kellerman (M*A*S*H), Jonathan Krane, Dylan & Cole Sprouse, Producer Joe Reilly (A Modern Twain Story – The Prince and the Pauper), and Academy Award winning Executive Producer Beau Rogers.
